Overstock is having a great sale (with free shipping), and in the interest of ME not buying ALL THE RUGS, I want to share them with you! Full disclosure--I DID buy two of these and already own one, but at these prices, you can't pass it up. An area rug can really make or break your room, and I do switch mine out a lot, but mostly because I keep falling for different styles.
Some of these are the more traditionally textured rugs--meaning, they feel like carpet on your feet, but I've recently started loving the styles that are more of a pad with the design printed on them. They are great for kids playing on them, because toys will actual stand up, cars will roll and Lego blocks and Barbie shoes don't end up getting lost and vacuumed because of thick pile. They aren't what you'd call plush, but they do provide enough padding to make it more comfortable than sitting on a hard floor.
Lovato Bohemian Block Print Area Rug - 7'10" x 10'3" - Silver/Grey
This rug has that trellis style and very neutral colors. It's modern style could fit in so many rooms, and this size is only $128.69!! It comes in three colors, but I lean toward the neutral options.
Unique Loom Casino Sofia Area Rug - 8' x 10' - Ivory
This rug has just about the best price I've ever seen--even for a 9x12, which is usually $300-500, even on sale! I love the ivory and grey options, and with this rug's traditional style, I can't think of a room where it wouldn't work. An 8x10' size is only $116.31!
Alexander Home Isabelle Traditional Vintage Border Printed Area Rug - 2'3" x 3'9" - Olive/Charcoal
I have fallen in love with this pad style rug. It lays so flat and makes for easy clean-up. They are also great for layering over another rug. Alexander Home has so many beautiful rugs and I love their style. This particular rug has been really popular with Instagrammers and bloggers and has been sold out in the 8x10' size for a while, and since I missed it the first time around, I was sure to get it this time (for a great price)! The 8x10' ($181.25) is sold out again, so you'll have to keep an eye out for it, but it IS available in a larger 9x12' size, a runner and other smaller sizes. I'd love to see it in a bathroom or kitchen, or even as a mat in front of a door. The 5x7' size is $107.09.
Alexander Home Isabelle Traditional Vintage Border Printed Area Rug - 7'6" x 9'6" - Taupe/Stone
I bought this rug when I couldn't get the previous one, and it is so pretty. It definitely has more blue and cooler tones in it than I expected, but that works for our den. I'm thinking of moving this into one of the bedrooms or new office, but not totally sure yet. I think it would be nice in a boy's room because of the shades of blue and grey and generally masculine vibe. The price for this size is $191.24--less than I paid a couple months ago!!
Alexander Home Leanne Aztec Distressed Printed Area Rug - 5' x 7'6" - Gold/Blush
I've seen this rug online and love the combo of pinks, yellows and golds. It would be perfect for a little girl's room without being too cutesy. The Aztec print has a modern vibe and could really raise the cool-factor in your space. I love the interesting color combinations and this one is definitely worth mentioning. A 5x7' size is only $102.14.
Alexander Home Leanne Traditional Distressed Printed Area Rug - 7'6" x 9'6" - Grey/Apricot
This one is a little more than the others, at $192.52, but it's still under $200 for a large area rug of 7/6"x 9/6". I love the soft, muted colors and think it's vintage-style would look good in SO many spaces. I love it in a runner, which is only $56.94.

I can't remember the first example of fluted wood furniture I saw, but it was probably either this gorgeous custom wood bathroom vanity from Chris Loves Julia , or the DIY fluted coffee table Fariha shared on Pennies for a Fortune . The custom cabinetry was done professionally using a router for each line, which isn't something I possess the skills to do. This did help inspire the colors I used in our bathroom remodel, though! I really connected to the method Fariha used to build the coffee table--wooden dowels. What a fabulous idea!
I did a little refresh in our daughter's room, and I decided we needed some large-scale art. I actually planned to order a print, but inspiration struck on a trip to HomeGoods when I saw two HUGE framed canvases on clearance for $25 and $9. I grabbed them up and headed home, with my head filled with ideas on what to do with them.
I love peel-and-stick wallpaper so much! It's an easy, DIY fix for any space that just needs a little refresh. Because it's easily removeable, I feel much more confident going ahead and choosing a pattern. I struggle to commit to traditional pasted wallpaper--I think it's because we removed so much of it when we bought our house. It is no easy task. Peel-and-stick is also very economical, so if you decide to change it up a few years down the line, it doesn't feel so bad. I've now put it in four areas of our house. Today, you'll see the kitchen and den. It's the same pattern in different colors. I love how much the simple pattern really just makes each space.
